Nigerian singer Harrysong has appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to stop borrowing money from other countries to fund the country’s economy and fight the coronavirus pandemic.
This comes after the Senate on Tuesday, swiftly approved Buhari’s request for N850 billion ($2.36 billion) loan from the Capital Market to fund projects in the 2020 budget.
Harrysong, in an Instagram post, urged the president to invest in education to help boost the country’s growth by churning out students who can use their “brains to sustain the economy.”
He wrote: “Buhari invest in education, it’s never too late. Start paying students. We need brains to sustain this country’s economy.
He added, “And please stop borrowing from other countries ooooooooo I dey shake”
