Reno Omokri Blasts Nigeria Billionaires For Donating Money To FG

The former spokesman to former president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, Reno Omokri has this morning taken to his verified Twitter account @renoomokri to address the recent development, whereby some Nigerian billionaires have donated monies to the federal government to help fight the Coronavirus pandemic.

Recall that Nigerians have been made privy to the information that Nigerian individual billionaires and some organizations have begun to donate money to the federal government to help fight the Coronavirus which has been on rampage all over the world and recently in Nigeria.

In the viral document, it was alleged that Aliko Dangote donated #1 billion Naira, Femi Otedola #1 billion Naira, Dr. Paul Enenche of Dunamis church #2 billion Naira (though he later refuted this claim), Access, Zenith and Guaranteed Trusted Bank each donated #1 billion Naira, Atiku Abubakar #50 million Naira, etc.

However, reacting to all these donations, Reno Omokri has more or less condemned these acts, stating that they should have given these monies to banks, asking them to pay a certain amount into the account of any Nigerian with less than ten thousand Naira; reason being that the federal government cannot be trusted to get these donated monies to reach the Nigerian populace which the gift was meant for in the first place:

"Instead of billionaires donating moneys to the FG, they could have given it to any top commercial bank and say ‘pay ₦10k to 100,000 Nigerians with less than ₦10k in their accounts’. You can’t trust donations to the government of General @MBuhari"
